Microsoft bCentral
Microsoft bCentral offers entrepreneurs and small-medium businesses advice on various business-related matters ranging from IT to insurance and legal matters. They wanted to be part of the World Cup 2006 event so they asked Alphasoft to create a downloadable calendar with rich text content reminding the users about upcoming games. Over a few weeks the tool was downloaded by almost 80,000 visitors.
Norwich Union
Norwich Union nurtures a relationship with bCentral and sees bCentral as a platform forpromoting their brand. Norwich Union tasked Alphasoft with creating an adaptive questionnaire resulting in a customised report of the user’s business insurance needs. This report could then be sent on to an insurance broker.
Sky Box Office
Sky Box Office provides subscribers with a service where a set of films are being shown in multiple overlapping timeslots per day. Through their advertising partner, MSN (Microsoft), they asked for a tool to allow their subscribers to make the most of their service by adding a planning feature. The user now has the facility to automatically set a reminder in their Microsoft Outlook Calendar for a particular film.
Value Retail
Value Retail develops and runs outlet shopping centres around Europe. Value Retail has grown fast and required an effective tool for comparing brand performance between different retail locations and build meaningful business metrics.
Alphasoft delivered a tool to consistently manage a complex set of contracts, totalling more than 500 hundred attributes in hierarchies. To make the management and use as easy to use and fast as possible we developed a generic rendering engine which allows the user to pick any set of fields and have these presented on the intranet as they would in Excel using formatted columns, drop-down lists and read-only fields.
Route planner
Value Retail develops and runs outlet shopping centres called villages around Europe typically within an hour’s drive from a major city. On their customer-facing web site they wanted a facility to guide customers from their homes to the car park at the nearest Value Retail outlet ‘village’. Alphasoft leveraged Microsoft MapPoint technology to quickly deliver a very user-friendly solution, complete with routing detail, sub maps and detailed driving directions.
